Who We Are

Lincoln Rodent Control Co. is a rodent-only company based at 5030 Fremont Street in University Place. We remove mice, rats, squirrels and voles from homes and businesses across Lincoln and the small towns around it, and we close up the gaps they used to get in.

We started with a simple idea: when there's a mouse in your kitchen at 10 p.m. or a rat under your garage on a Sunday, you shouldn't have to wait until Tuesday or explain your problem to a call center in another state. You should reach a local crew that knows Lincoln houses, can get to you quickly, and will tell you straight what's going on.

Why We Only Do Rodents

Most pest companies treat mice as one line on a list that also includes ants, spiders, termites and mosquitoes. A quarterly spray doesn't do much for a mouse problem, though. Rodents are a building problem: they get in through gaps in the house, live in the walls and attic, and keep coming back until those gaps are closed.

So we built a company around that one job. Every visit is about finding where rodents are living, removing them, and sealing the way in. That focus is what lets our technicians tell a house-mouse dropping from a deer-mouse dropping, spot a rat burrow under a stoop, or find the roof return a squirrel chewed through — and know what to do about each.

A Lincoln Company, Not a Lead Service

If you've searched for pest help online, you've probably landed on a page that looks local but just passes your information to whichever contractor pays for it — sometimes several at once. That's not us. When you contact Lincoln Rodent Control Co., you're dealing with the company that will actually come to your house: the same team that inspects, does the work, and comes back to check it.

We live and work here. We know the stone foundations near downtown, the mid-century ranches with tired garage seals, the new streets bordering fields, and the yards that back onto Salt Creek and Antelope Creek — and how rodents get into each.

How We Work

The promises we keep on every job.

A Real Arrival Time

We're open 24/7 and usually at your door within about 60 minutes. If it's going to take longer — a storm, a busy night, an address at the far edge of our area — we'll tell you that up front instead of promising something we can't deliver.

A Written Price Before Work Starts

We inspect first, show you what we found and give you a written, itemized quote. If we find something new once work is underway, we stop and talk to you before going further.

Traps, Not Poison, Inside Your Home

We trap rodents inside the house, in stations kids and pets can't open. Outdoor bait stations are used only when a large outdoor colony calls for it — locked, anchored and out of reach.

The Gap Gets Closed

Removing rodents without sealing the way in just makes room for the next ones. Every job includes finding entry points, and we close them with metal, mesh and mortar rodents can't chew through.

Our Standards on Every Job

  • Photos of what we find — droppings, damage and every entry point — so you see the problem, not just a bill.
  • A written quote before any work, with no surprise line items afterward.
  • Traps and stations placed where kids, pets and backyard hens can't reach them, and a list of where each one is.
  • Every catch removed from your property, and every trap and station picked up when the job is done.
  • Safe cleanup — wet methods and disinfectant, never sweeping or vacuuming droppings dry.
  • Follow-up until it's quiet — we don't call a job done after the first good night of catches.

When to Call Right Away — and When It Can Wait

People sometimes hesitate to contact us at night because they're not sure their problem is "bad enough." Our honest rule of thumb:

Urgent Response

Reach out now if:

  • You've seen a mouse or rat in your living space, or there's a rodent trapped somewhere it can't get out
  • There are fresh droppings in food areas, a pantry or a baby's room
  • You smell burning or see chewed wiring near rodent activity
  • Something is living in the attic and you hear it every night
  • Rats are burrowing under the house, garage or chicken coop
Scheduled Visit

It can usually wait for a scheduled visit if:

  • You found a few old, dry droppings in the garage or storage area
  • You want a pre-season inspection or sealing before fall
  • You're buying a home and want a rodent inspection during your contingency period

What We Won't Do

We won't put poison in your living space. Poisoned rodents often die where no one can reach them.
We won't seal an animal inside your house. Active entry points stay open until the animals inside are gone.
We won't move squirrels across town. Nebraska law requires releasing a trapped squirrel within 100 yards of capture or humane euthanasia under permit, and we follow it.
We won't seal bats in or work outside Nebraska's bat exclusion windows. Many bat species are protected here.
We won't sell you gadgets that don't work. There's little evidence that ultrasonic or other electronic repellers drive out rodents.
We won't block what has to stay open — dryer vents, furnace air, radon systems or brick weep holes.
We won't push a monthly plan you don't need. If one visit and a good seal solves it, that's the recommendation.

Licensed and Insured — What That Actually Means for You

Every rodent company says "licensed and insured." Here's what those words should mean on a Lincoln rodent job.

Pesticide Licensing

In Nebraska, pesticide use — including rodent bait — is regulated under the Nebraska Pesticide Act, administered by the Nebraska Department of Agriculture. The strongest rodenticides are restricted-use products that only certified, licensed applicators can buy and apply, and anyone applying restricted-use products on someone else's property for hire has to meet the state's certification requirements. Even though we trap first, any bait we place outdoors is handled under those rules.

Wildlife Rules

Squirrels and bats aren't treated like mice and rats in Nebraska. Fox squirrels are small game, and trapping them in town or out of season requires authorization from the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, with strict release limits. Many bat species are protected, and exclusion is limited to certain times of year. We follow those rules on every job.

Liability Insurance

Rodent work means ladders at the roofline, crawling through attics with wiring and insulation, and working in crawl spaces. General liability insurance covers damage a technician accidentally causes on your property, so you're not the one paying for it.

Workers' Compensation

If a worker without coverage gets hurt on your property, you could be exposed. A properly insured company takes that risk off the table.

Where We Work

We keep our service area close to home on purpose. Rodent work means repeat visits — checking traps, confirming seals — and a fast first response only works if we're nearby.

All of Lincoln

From our base in University Place, we cover the whole city: the northeast around Bethany and Havelock; the older neighborhoods near downtown, Near South, Everett, Clinton and Hartley; the east side out past 70th and 84th Streets; south Lincoln and the newer areas near Yankee Hill and Wilderness Hills; and the northwest around Arnold Heights, Air Park and Fallbrook.

Six Nearby Towns

Waverly, Hickman, Bennet, Firth, Malcolm and Raymond — including acreages, barns and outbuildings.

The Rodent Seasons We Plan Around

Lincoln's rodent problems follow the weather.

Fall: Fall is mouse season. As nights cool, mice look for warmth and the heat escaping from houses draws them in.

Winter: Winter keeps them inside near furnaces, water heaters and refrigerators, breeding in the walls. Voles tunnel under the snow and chew young trees.

Late Winter & Late Summer: Late winter and late summer are when fox squirrels have young, so attic squirrel work has to be timed carefully.

Spring & Summer: Spring and summer bring rats foraging around gardens, bird feeders, coops and pet food, and vole runways show up as the snow melts.

How Our Pricing Works

We don't post a flat price list, and here's why. "Mice in the kitchen" can be a few mice and one gap under the garage door, or a colony living in the walls of a 1910 house with dozens of openings. A flat rate would either overcharge the simple jobs or leave you with surprise add-ons on the hard ones.

Instead, we look first. You get photos of what we found and a written, itemized quote — removal, sealing, cleanup, follow-up visits — before any work starts. If something changes once we're underway, we stop and get your OK on the new number.
